Ronnie O’Sullivan has won a total of 37 ranking titles and made 15 maximum 147 breaks. This would not be achievable if Rocket cannot produce his best game under pressure and make winning breaks.

Masters championship is an executive ranking event, played at Alexandra Place London, England. Inviting the top 16 ranking players. In the first round, Ronnie O’Sullivan had a match against the Chinese Liang Wenbo. Liang fought back O’Sullivan from 2-4 down to lead 5-4. At 5-4, Liang was on a match-winning break, as he only required the 10th frame to defeat O’Sullivan but missed the last black ball required to win to match. Ronnie geared up and made a match-winning break of 121 in deciding frame to win the first round of Masters. Later in the quarter-finals, Rocket defeated Neil Robertson 6-3 with two 50+ break and a 68 break in the winning frame. Moving to the semi-finals, Ronnie defeated Marco Fu 6-4. In the semi-finals, both players made back-to-back century breaks of 110, 141, 95, and 122. O’Sullivan had to replace the cue tip due to damage. This damage could entirely change the match but managed to win the match against the finest Marco Fu. After defeating Marco Fu in the semi-finals, Ronnie O’Sullivan reached his 12th master's final. In Finals, best of 19 frames, Ronnie came across Joe Perry. Joe won the two consecutive frames with a 50+ and 115 break, leading by 4-1. Both players had ups and downs, but Joe made incredible breaks of 117 and 95, still trailing 6-8. Ronnie made a 112 century break, leading 9-6, just one frame away from victory. The Rocket won the 17th frame to lift his record 7th master’s title.

In post-tournament interview, Ronnie said “I was thinking to pack up everything, had no hope when Liang was on the match ball in 10th frame but he missed. After that, I thought, I mean, I need to put in the effort. The whole event was competitive to play and had to deal with great pressure against Robertson, Marco, and especially Joe Perry. But yeah, I am here lifting the beautiful trophy.

In the Shanghai Masters 2019, something similar happened, The rocket was on the edge falling out from the championship but managed to win the Shanghai Masters 2019 for the third time back to back since 2017. The match against Kyren Wilson in Quarter Finals was a decisive moment because Ronnie was trailing back at 5-1. Kyren was one frame way from reaching the semi-finals but here is where the Rocket gameplay comes in. O’Sullivan won six straight back-to-back frames to clinch the match with 3-century breaks and 5 frame clearances. Later in the semi-finals, Ronnie defeated Neil Robertson 10-6 with 2-century breaks and great tactical play. Finally, in the Finals, O’Sullivan was playing against Shaun Murphy. Murphy is known as the magician capable of pulling out unbelievable breaks and long pots. Even for Murphy, it wasn’t easy playing against O’Sullivan. Ronnie made breaks of 124 to lead by 10-7 but Murphy came back winning at 10-9. In 20th  Frame, a match-winning break of 86 got O’Sullivan his third Shanghai Masters back to back after first in 2017. Ronnie O’Sullivan crossed the 1017th century breaks threshold in Shanghai Masters 2019.

Third consecutive victory

These skills separate the best “The Rocket” from the rest.
