The Undertaker's Streak
The Undertaker (aka The Phenom) joined the WWF (now WWE) in 1990, a career which spans across 3 decades. He set his legend in the history of WWE, majorly by his dark deadman gimmick but also 'The Streak' - a undefeated record of wins at the greatest televised wrestling show around the globe - Wrestlemania.
The Streak went on a tremendously long run of 18 different annual WrestleManias, starting from Snuka in 1993 to beating CM Punk at Wrestlemania XXIX. He also has the highest number of main events at this gloriously prestiged night - 5 times.
Across this run he has put many icons of the game to bed most notably; The Ultimate Warrior, Big Show, Edge, Diesel, Kane, Ric Flair, Mark Henry, Batista, Shawn Michaels and Triple H. With Shawn and Kane sparring twice against the Phenomen and Triple sparring a record 3 times - all ending in defeat for anybody who tried to pin the legend.
Many fans had their hearts crushed and spirits broken when Lesnar hit Taker with a gruesome F-5 at Wrestlemania 30, and pinned "1, 2, 3..Pinfall" and the crowd was struck in utter disbelief with the most shocking reactions from the event still showcased as bright examples for if " :O " had a face.
Many pundits didn't agree with this and felt that Taker should've had a better streak ending than the Beast Incarnate. His record at WrestleManias ended in a staggering 23-2 (second digest coming to Roman Reigns, aka The Big Dawg). His numbers are unmatched and it shows the longevity of the man, the mad respect his persona gained amongst the fans and the shivers he brings down the spine when his theme strikes and darkness prevails.
The Undertaker won 14 titles in total; having won the WWE title 3 times, the World Heavyweight Championship 4 times, The Tag Team Championship 6 times and a WWF hardcore championship. He is for sure on of the greatest and for a big community even the greatest this industry has ever produced - over going the likes of Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, The Rock, The Ultimate Warrior, Randy Savage, Edge, Ric Flair, Batista, John Cena, and even Kane. He is a real Hall of Famer and will forever be remembered in WWE fanatic's minds the heart stopping moments he produced in sports entertainment and the legacy he leaves behind which will forever remain in WWE folklore.
